Part 2 releasing Monday 9th March 2026
Author: Jamie Sawyer, Director, Echidna Solutions
With the EoL for Server back in 2024, and the upcoming EoL for Data Center infrastructure in 2029, the concept of migrating your Atlassian work to the Cloud has never been more important.
For the most part, Atlassian Consultancies have leant into the sheer scale of required migrations by working to standardise and rationalise working practices, and in so doing have commoditised the market. This approach has been great for a large number of the smaller and simpler migrations which need to occur in the market, and allows for a relatively quick, standardised turnaround for these engagements. The challenge comes with scale and complexity - and with a large number of more complex Data Center instances needing to migrate over the coming years, this gap is going to be felt harder now than ever.
In this five-part series, Jamie Sawyer, Director at Echidna Solution and 15-year veteran of the Atlassian Ecosystem provides the tools you need to truly understand the world of Atlassian Cloud Migrations, as we move into the End of Life for the Data Center line of products.
Released twice a week, this short series of articles will help teams looking to plan out their own migrations, providing as much background context as Jamie could fit!
Available Monday 9th March 2026
Jamie continues his exploration of history, looking at the development of Data Center, and the Era of Divergence between the 3 core platforms.
Available Thursday 12th March 2026
With the bombshell EoL announcement for Server, the ecosystem scrambled to define and refine migration processes. In this part, Jamie explores the evolution of the processes and tooling underpinning this race.
Available Monday 16th March 2026
Echidna Solutions take a different approach for Cloud Migrations to many in the ecosystem. In this part, Jamie details the approach, and provides the underlying logic behind the decisions made.
Available Thursday 19th March 2026
Based on our recent case study with Rightmove, Jamie goes into technical depth - covering everything from interview formats, through the Atlassian Cloud bugs encountered, to how tens of thousands of lines of custom Python code supported the migration.
